The End!

Today is the last day… which means I have successfully completed all the assignments for ACM2003 which is such a relief. At the start of the semester when we were told that we were going to make an ‘e-card, e-toy and game) my response this was huh. I had never made an e-card before let alone a game. I very much questioned whether or not I should be taking this subject. But I stuck to my guns and stayed with the subject. The main reason I did this was because of direction the world is moving in, in terms of multimedia. I can very see myself using this information I have learnt in this subject in a classroom setting.


During the course of this subject I can truly say I have learnt so much and have come a long way from the begging of the semester. I have really enjoyed this class/ subject even though at times I have been at war with my computer screaming and shouting verbal abuse at it.

My journey in this subject has not always been an easy one there are been definite bumps in the road but each bump in the road I came to I was always able to overcome, sometimes on my own, and other times with assistance from Angela or my peers.
Overall I really enjoyed and gained a lot from this subject and am glad that I stuck with it!

Week ten

Ahhhhhhhhh... ill say it again! I am making progress but it has not being easy for me.
Still have a bit today but I finally have some time were I had just sends working on this game, without having to worry about getting one of my many essays done.

Keeping my fingers crossed that all works out for me.

but the videos are a real help!

Week nine

AHHHHHH is all I have to say at the minute. I am so totally and completely stressed out about making this E game!!! I don’t know what I am doing!!!! I have tried to do as the videos have told us but it won’t work and it is getting quite frustrating.

Okay so now that my little rant is over, I think it’s safe to say that I am finding the making of this E game quite difficult and all the added pressure of all the other assignments that I have due in is really not helping.

I will have to just keep trying and asking questions and hoping that Angela can help!
Fingers crossed that everything works out!

Week Seven

So we are over the half way mark, which is great as uni is nearly over and holidays are just around the corner. But wait first comes handing in the abundance of assignments we get during this time.

Although this subjects has been great as I only have one assignment left and I am pretty happy with the two assignments I have already handed in. I'm actually quite proud of myself, that I was able to produce something half decent.

So as I said two assignments down and one to go, I know this last assignment is a biggy, and I have attempted to start it and well to be honest I think I in way to deep. I don't really understand what I am doing with this game that we have to make, which is actually kind of scary. But I just have to continue to tell myself that I will eventually be able to understand and comprehend what it is we have to do and that eventually everything will just click into place. (Fingers crossed)

Although I am a little (or a lot) confused at the moment, in regards to making a game, the video tutorials are a huge help and well without them I really would have no idea what it is I am doing!

So for anyone else that is lost and confused at the moment...don’t worry you’re not alone.

Week six

Hey.... so I have finially finished my e-toy!!!! I can now just let out a big sigh of relief. That is not to say I didn't enjoy creating my e-toy, it's just I am so happy to have it done! Which really would not have been possible with out the videos! So a BIG THANKYOU TO LUKE!!!!!

I have truly found the video tuteorials amazing, I have learnt so much more this semester, and suprisingly I actually understand and remember how to do it all...well nearly all.

I am now trying to focus on at least developing a charter for my game now, which I am still having trouble with, but I'm sure I will be able to nut something out.

Week Four and Five

well I didn't post a blog durning week four because I have been quite sick and still am which is not cool! Any way....I have finished my e-card which is great, my e-card may not be so great! lol.

I always knew the weekly videos were really good and helpful but whilst completing my e-card and working on my e-toy I have found them amzing. They have helped so much!!!

Although I am finding the e-toy a little trickey, I actually enjoy makeing it! cant wait for it t be finished.

week three

Like usual I found out some new things, and just had some other things that i sought of new about but never really payed all that much attention to cleared up, which was good! I know some found the video boring (Emma...lol) but I found it quite interesting, only because up until watching the week three video reading I was completely oblivious to 'net neutrality', and like i said in a post I made about the video, although I was completely oblivious to net neutrality I am not all that surprised, as nearly every industry that operates in todays world is just more power and money hungry then ever before.

All so I would just like all to point out that when I write my blog at home it wont let me post my blog up until ALL THE FULL STOPS and so forth are REMOVED. So its not my fault MIKE!

I really found this weeks content to be quite good as being someone who does not know alot about this subject at all I learning alot of new things and I found that this week I not only learnt alot of new things I actually understood it which was good

I am also finiding it quite interesing

This weeks video was a really good one It was straight to the point and infromative and easy to understand i found it interesting and very useful.

Week One

Week One of ACM2003 was interesting well to be honest I was not sure if this was the right subject for me because Im not the best on computers and I often find myself fighting with them and becoming extremely frustrated and annoyed But after having the subject explained and allowing myself time to process the information I came to the conclusion that this was the right subject for me I realized that this particular subject would be extremely beneficial for my current job
I am currently working with Autistic children between the ages of 6 and 9 who love computer games and as an aspiring teacher I try to look for various ways that I can teach the children By undertaking and completing this subject I will be able to not just make a game but I hope to make an educational fun game that I can give out to the children I work with So now I am excited to be undertaking this subject
Week One homework I found making the set activates in flash quite easy and somewhat enjoyable to do I found the video reading that we were required to watch interesting Not being the biggest computer video game fan I found it quite interesting how much money there is to be made off video games and how many people actually play and buy them I was also fascinated with the structure of the gaming industry
